As Everton prepare to face Oldham in the next round of the Budweiser FA Cup here is a betting guide to the game for a bit of extra interest and maybe make a few quid in the process.
As you would imagine there is absolutely no value in backing Everton in the outright markets with the blues heavily odds on at 4/11 whilst the struggling League one outfit are priced at 7/1.
The last time these two sides met was also in the FA Cup back in 2008 at Goodison Park when Everton were on the end of a humiliating 1-0 defeat. For Oldham to repeat the feat is 22/1.
Clean sheets have been hard to come by for both sides and with Everton`s defence looking dicier than the contents of a Tesco burger having a punt on both teams to score at 17/20 looks to be a good bet.
Oldham`s new striker Lee Bernard has netted twice in his first two games for the owls scoring the first goal of the game on both occasions he is 8/1 to make it three in three.
Jose Baxter had a superb game against that mob over the park in the last round and will have a point to prove when he lines up against his former team tomorrow he is priced at a tempting 9/1 to score the last goal of the game.
As for Everton the usual suspects are pretty much priced too short to really be worth a bet with both Fellaini and Jelavic at 7/2 to score the first. Bainesy looks the value bet at 11/1 taking into account he takes both the free kicks and penalties.
As for the correct score market Everton to win 2-1 is the one for me at 15/2 it won`t make you a fortune but unless your backing a rout (Everton 9-0 is 500/1) or Oldham to pull off another surprise then correct score betting isn`t going to be too much of a money spinner.
For my money the way to go is score-casts for those who don`t know a score-cast is a combined bet of a first goal scorer and correct score. You must get both selections correct to win but you stand to win more if you do. My tip would be Jelavic to score first and Everton to win 2-1 is 33/1.
If you`re feeling particularly lucky this weekend you could go for a Fellaini hat trick at 20/1 or alternatively if you feel concussed then why not back Captain Fantastic Phil Neville to score first at 40/1
If you think that this is our year Everton are 5/1 to lift the cup now would be the time to back us too as that price is only going to get shorter the further the competition advances.
