A season to remember for Everton

A recent mixed bag of results for Everton appears to have taken the sails out of Everton’s season.

With two wins in six games, the challenge for Champions League qualification has taken a knock.

Everton are now sixth, so still in the mix for a Europa League place, but the gap to fourth has drifted to six points, with London clubs Tottenham and Arsenal taking an advantage of David Moyes’s men.

Important games against Norwich and Reading are up next in the league campaign, but that is all put to one side this weekend as the magic of the FA Cup returns with a fifth round match against Oldham.

“January was a good month for us and we`ve still got a lot to aim for this season – we`re going well in the Premier League and we`re in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Howard told The Echo.

He continued: “A lot of clubs would settle for that but we`ve just got to keep pushing forward and try to make this a season to remember.

Meanwhile there was no doubts in the mind of Costa Rican left-back Bryan Oviedo heading into the weekends game with League One side Oldham Athletic.

With all due respect to Oldham and their ground Boundary Park, these games are sometimes not the types of matches that foreign players relish. But Oviedo is very keen to do well as it’s the FA Cup.

“We want to win the FA Cup so everything is focused on it, It`s very important to us. It`s well known in Costa Rica. Everyone watches the big games.”
