Everton have shown signs of progression under Marco Silva this season but there is still plenty of work to be done, with the Toffees looking to bolster their ranks during the January transfer window.

The area crying out for reinforcements the most is in the final third, where Everton have struggled for consistency after losing Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in 2017 – failing to replace the Belgium international.

That was certainly not without trying though as the Toffees have signed forwards since Lukaku’s departure, including Cenk Tosun, but all those drafted in have failed to fill the void – and Everton are now looking to offload the Turkish international.

The Liverpool Echo states Everton want to raise £20m by offloading Tosun during the January window and that fee would be reinvested into the squad if a sale was to go ahead.

Many fans have reacted to the reports on social media and we have gathered some of their comments below.
