Everton keen to bolster attack with addition £90k-a-week forward

|

Everton have shown signs of progression under Marco Silva but there is still work to be done, with the biggest issue this term being the lack of a recognised goalscorer in the final third.

The Toffees have failed to replace Romelu Lukaku following his move to Manchester United in 2017 but it seems that the Merseyside outfit are finally looking to fill that void within their squad during the January transfer window.

Sky Sports states Everton are keen on bringing Belgium international Michy Batshuayi to Goodison Park from fellow Premier League side Chelsea, with the Blues set to end the 25-year-old’s spell on loan with Valencia.

Everton, who already have Kurt Zouma on loan from the Blues, cannot sign Batshuayi on a temporary basis due to Premier League regulations but are chasing a permanent deal for a player who earns £90k-a-week according to Spotrac.

However, outgoing deals are necessary in order to find space within the squad for the striker’s arrival and Everton are only likely to seek a move if they can offload Oumar Niasse or Cenk Tosun.
