The 19-year-old Everton attacker was named in the 20-man shortlist as reported by The Daily Mail along with the likes of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, England star Jadon Sancho and Atletico Madrid’s new number seven Joao Felix.
Despite the recognition to make it onto the final shortlist before the award is announced, plenty of Everton fans on social media believe Kean has no chance of winning the Golden Boy honour based on his poor form this season for the Toffees, with some fans claiming that manager Marco Silva has not utilised the Italian youngster to his best strengths.
