Explained: Which Everton loanee is currently thriving in the Football League?

|

Luke Garbutt is one Everton player enjoying his time out on loan. The 26-year-old joined Ipswich Town in July and has been a regular with at Portmand Road ever since. Despite suffering an injury, he’s played his part in the Tractor Boys’ bright start to the new season and could get a promotion on his CV if Ipswich can maintain their consistency in League One.

Town are currently top of the division with 27 points from 11 games and have conceded just five goals. They’re unbeaten this season, are coming off the back of four consecutive wins and could go seven points clear at the summit if results go their way over the weekend.

As per WhoScored, Garbutt has helped to keep a clean sheet in 60% of his five Ipswich appearances. The left-back has scored three goals, created a chance every 50 minutes, averaged 32 passes-per-game, won 12 aerial duels (45%), has a 67% dribble success rate, hit the target with 60% of his shots, blocked eight crosses/passes and made 12 clearances.

With Lucas Digne, Djibril Sidibe and Leighton Baines providing competition at left-back in the Everton first-team, Garbutt is unlikely to feature under Marco Silva. The 26-year-old’s last appearance came against Sunderland on May 9, 2015.
