Everton suffered defeat at the weekend in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool, with Divock Origi netting the only goal of the game in the dying minutes after Jordan Pickford’s calamitous error.
The defeat was only the second in the past eight Premier League matches, with the Toffees showing tremendous improvements under Marco Silva this season – and many feel the scoreline at Anfield was not a true reflection of Everton’s performance.
A positive display from Silva’s side was comparable to the resilient performance shown at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea prior to November’s international break, where the Toffees took a point off the Champions League-chasing Blues.
There were certainly positives to take from the game against Liverpool despite the defeat and this is something that many Everton supporters were stating on social media after the game, believing they have fallen to bad luck once again.
We have gathered some of their comments below.

Football will always be this: the good days, and the others. BUT… what matters is the fight, and the whole team AND subs were genius today, as well as Our Manager.
