Reports in home country suggest £49.5m-rated ace is being eyed by Everton

Brace yourselves, according to Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, Everton are interested in trying to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in the summer window.

The Blues are bound to be linked with some big names now that Carlo Ancelotti is in charge and once the summer window comes around, there’s going to be some exciting rumours.

Of course, not everyone will end up coming through but this is one that Blues fans would likely get behind given the stature of the young stopper.

Can you see it happening?

Seen as the successor to Gianluigi Buffon in Italy, the youngster has been part of the Milan first-team – though it’s not what it once was – since the age of 18 and it is clear that he is one of Europe’s very brightest talents.

And, according to reports in his home country, Everton are interested in trying to get a deal done that would underline the Toffees’ ambition of returning to the very top table in the game.

Valued at £49.5m by transfermarkt, it seems safe to imagine that the stopper would not come cheap if a deal was to be struck, but it also seems as though the Blues have the finance to make such a deal happen.

Jordan Pickford is the club’s current number one but with the mistakes continuing to creep in as he goes along his time at Goodison Park, it could make sense that Ancelotti wants to bring in an upgrade.

Few would offer such a stark improvement than Donnarumma.
