Report: SC Paderborn ‘interested’ in Everton youngster

|

According to Paul Joyce of The Times, SC Paderborn 07 are ‘interested’ in Antony Evans. The 21-year-old has an uncertain future at Everton as he’s struggled for first-team football and is out of contract this summer.

Evans has impressed for the u23s this season, contributing 10 goals in 12 Premier League 2 games, but it’s not earned him a single appearance at senior level.

The attacking-midfielder finds himself behind Alex Iwobi, Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson in the pecking order and may have to leave to get first-team opportunities.

Evans embarked upon loan moves to Morecambe (January 19, 2017 – May 31, 2017) and Blackpool (January 31, 2019 – May 31, 2019) for competitive football, but it didn’t improve his situation on Merseyside.

Since being promoted from the u18s to the u23s, the 21-year-old has racked up a staggering 70 appearances, scoring and creating 27 goals. With no new deal on the horizon, Evans could be on his way out of Goodison Park.

Paul Joyce says Paderborn are looking to capitalise on the situation, but he doesn’t state whether a bid is being lined up.
