Report: Marco Silva could sell £70k-per-week Everton man, three clubs interested

|

According to Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad (h/t Sport Witness), Kevin Mirallas could finally be on his way out of Everton this summer. The £70k-per-week winger has interest from Standard Liege, RSC Anderlecht and Royal Antwerp. Mirallas’ preferred destination is his former club Standard – Liege is also the city of his birth – but finances might be an issue.

The Belgian international will cost a club £3.6m-a-year in wages and around £5m for a transfer fee, so the overall package could be more than £10m for a 31-year-old who has struggled for form in the last 12 months. Mirallas spent 2018/19 on loan at Fiorentina and wanted to turn the deal permanent this summer, but the Violas opted against it.

Mirallas’s form at the Artemio Franchi Stadium likely contributed to that decision, as the wide-man scored and created only three goals in 27 Serie A games and endured a five-month goal drought. His career started in Belgium and could now finish there. The 31-year-old has no place in the team under Marco Silva and needs to find a new club to get first-team football.

Mirallas has spent seven years at Everton, making a total of 186 appearances in all competitions, but his future looks to be away from Goodison Park. Whether he joins one of the three names Belgian clubs remains to be seen, however.
