Report: Henry Onyekuru could join third club in six months

|

According to Sporx, Henry Onyekuru could leave AS Monaco for Galatasaray in January, just six months after joining Les Rouges et Blancs from Everton. The 22-year-old has struggled for fitness and playing time in France, racking up just 160 minutes of football, and Gala are hoping to capitalise on the situation.

Onyekuru impressed while on loan at the Türk Telekom Stadium last season, scoring and creating 22 goals in 44 games, but Gala missed out on the striker to Monaco over the summer. They’re looking to loan their man back to Turkey for £2m and want a buying option attached to his contract.

The Nigerian international has made four appearances for his new club, last featuring against Reims on September 21. He suffered a hamstring injury in October and recently returned to the matchday squad before the international break – unused substitute in Monaco’s 1-0 win over Dijon (November 9).

Everton were forced to cash in on the striker after his inability to get a UK work permit. Onyekuru failed to make a single appearance in his two years on Merseyside but was still sold for a £5m profit. Whether he’s on the move again remains to be seen, however.
