Report: Everton preparing £30m bid for 23-year-old, talks held with agent in London

|

According to Brazilian and Portuguese football expert Bruno Andrade, Everton are preparing a £30m bid for Everton Cebolinha. Talks have also reportedly been held with the 23-year-old’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, in London.

Manchester City have been linked, but the Toffees may now be leading the race for his signature if they’re lodging an official bid. The Brazilian international has spent sixs years at Gremio, making a total of 176 appearances in all competitions since joining from Fortaleza in 2013.

Cebolinha has been in fantastic form this season, scoring and creating 22 goals in 41 games, so he’d be a good addition to the Everton ranks. Brazilian players have been thriving on Merseyside of late too with Bernard and Richarlison impressing, so the 23-year-old transfer-target may be open to a move to Goodison Park.

Would Everton Cebolinha be a good signing?

Yes

No

That being said, Marco Silva isn’t short on options in Cebolina’s position – Bernard, Richarlison, Theo Walcott, Alex Iwobi – so an existing player may need to leave to make room for a new face. Everton are struggling for goals this season, netting just 14 in as many Premier League games, so the January transfer window might be essential to bringing in attacking quality.
