Report: Everton make £12.8m bid for 24-year-old, agent “not aware” of offer being submitted

Everton have been linked with a move for Rafael Santos Borré and are said to have made a £12.8m bid for the 24-year-old. As per Lucas Sposito of Sport Witness, however, Rafael Santos Borré’s agent, Helmuth Weninng, says he’s “not aware” of any bid being submitted.

Santos Borre has spent two-and-a-half years at River Plate since joining the Argentinean outfit from Atletico Madrid, scoring and creating 38 goals in 85 games. The Colombian international has been in fine form this season, netting seven goals in 11 Superliga games, and could be a good addition to the Everton attack.

Would Rafael Santos Borré be a good signing?

Yes

No

The Toffees aren’t short on centre-forwards – Cenk Tosun, Moise Kean, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison – but goals have been a problem this season. Everton have scored just 14 times in as many Premier League games and Marco Silva can’t decide which player should lead the line.

Santos Borre could be an improvement on the Blues’ current options, but he won’t come cheap. Sport Witness say the 24-year-old has a release clause of £25.7m, so Everton may need to revise their initial bid if they want to bring him to Goodison Park.
