Report: Everton plot raid on League One side with ‘offers they can’t refuse’

|

Everton are eyeing up moves for Bolton Wanderers duo Ronan Darcy and Dennis Politic following an impressive start to first-team football for the League One side.

According to Football Insider, the Premier League side are keen on the two Bolton teenagers, who have been fast-tracked to the first-team following the third-tier club’s crushing financial problems in recent months that has seen historic North-West English team play largely academy players for the season.

The report goes on to say that Darcy and Politic are being closely monitored by Everton and that the Toffees have the much-needed resources to pry the players away from Bolton with ‘offers they could not refuse’.

The Bolton duo have both been essential players to the former Premier League side this season, with stats from Transfermarkt showing that Darcy, an 18-year-old centre-forward, has played seven games in all competitions for the League One club, whilst Politic, a 19-year-old central midfielder who represents Romania at youth level, has started eight games.

With the Trotters in desperate need of cash following a turbulent year, Keith Hill’s side could be very keen on offloading two of their more prized assets in the squad to generate much-needed cash flow inside the club, and for Darcy and Politic, they could be two exciting additions for Everton.

With the two Bolton players already experiencing plenty first-team football in the English third division, the step-up to Premier League 2 and Everton’s U-23 side will be a seemingly easy one, and the possibility of Darcy and Politic being loaned out should the pair make the move east of Greater Manchester will likely be high because of their unique circumstance.

Everton signing the two promising players could be a win-win situation for everyone involved, with the Toffees signing two names that could go on to have great futures in the game whilst Bolton receive some much cash after months of financial problems.
