According to Simon Jones of Mail Online, Everton are ‘keen to offload’ Oumar Niasse in January. Marcel Brands has placed Cuco Martina on the chopping block and wants Niasse to follow him through the exit door.

The Director of Football is looking to raise funds towards new signings, but it remains to be seen how much he’ll make from out-of-favour players that are out of contract this summer.

Niasse joined Everton from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2016 and has gone on to make 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring nine goals. He’s racked up just a single minute of Premier League football this season and hasn’t scored a competitive goal for the first-team since Everton’s 3-1 defeat to West Ham United (May 2018).

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean and Richarlison ahead of Niasse in the pecking order, he’s left with no choice but to seek a new club. Finding a suitor has proven difficult, however. The 29-year-old will be a free transfer in a matter of months, so potential suitors may just wait until the season ends before making an approach.

Niasse’s lack of football (1 appearance in 2019) and poor scoring record (0 goals in 18 months) isn’t going to attract many clubs this month, so Everton may have to accept any offer that comes their way.
