Report: 6’1” European youngster compared to David Luiz scouted by Everton for 2020 move

Everton were reportedly one of the three Premier League clubs in attendance for Sunday’s Moscow Derby to scout Spartak Moscow youngster Alex Kral.

According to Club Call, the 21-year-old midfielder was being watched by the Toffees as well as other top-flight English sides this weekend during Spartak’s 3-0 win over city rivals Lokomotiv Moscow, with the report claiming that Kral could be on the radar for multiple teams next year.

With the Czech Republic international making the reported €12m move from Slavia Prague to Russia this summer according to the club’s official Twitter account, Kral has impressed for his new team despite just being at Spartak for a few months.

As stats from Transfermarkt show, the versatile youngster has been an ever-present figure for the Russian Premier League side since making the move in early September, with Kral playing close to 500 minutes for Spartak in six appearances across all competitions.

Although a winter move will be seemingly impossible for Everton given how recent the midfielder’s move to Russia was, a transfer in 2020 could potentially be on the cards if Kral continues to impress for Spartak, and the Toffees could do with a player like the 21-year-old.

Compared to Arsenal defender David Luiz as per Russian Football News, Kral is a player who initially started and starred as a centre-back for the Czech Republic’s youth sides during his earlier years in football, yet his career so far has seen the youngster progress further up the pitch and into a midfield role.

His similarities do Luiz don’t just stop at their hairstyle, though, with the scout report from Russian Football News stating that Kral is a player who likes to use his strength in 1v1 battles to win possession of the ball, as well as pick out long-passes to attacking teammates when space is available.

Everton need defensive recruitments given their short numbers at the back as charts from Transfermarkt show, and Kral could be a fine addition to Marco Silva’s side who could do with a young, versatile player added to their ranks.
