Everton have endured a blip in recent weeks after going three consecutive matches without a win, the most recent of which was Monday’s 2-2 draw with Watford at Goodison Park.
The sequence began with defeat to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at Anfield, where Jordan Pickford’s late mistake gifted the only goal of the game to Divock Origi in the dying moments – earning the England international a wealth of criticism.
Some accusing fingers have continued to be pointed at the former Sunderland man in recent weeks and this led some fans on social media to discuss whether the young stopper was a problem – with Everton having kept four clean sheets in their last 11 Premier League matches.
However, it seems that very few are genuinely frustrated with Pickford’s displays as the thread quickly descended into fans heaping praise upon the stopper – with one supporter even stating he reminds him of Germany’s World Cup winner Manuel Neuer.
