Everton and West Brom currently sit level on 16 points in the league knowing that a win here today could easily see either team gracing the top half of the table.

Everton are currently winless in four outings which have seen Everton picking up draws with Blackpool and Sunderland.

West Brom who had a brilliant start to the season have faltered of late picking up just one point in five Premier League outings and perhaps encouragingly for Everton fans West Brom have failed to find the net in 199 minutes of football.

Cahill and Baines

Winger Leighton Baines has pledged to keep providing ammo for the likes of Tim Cahill

‘It is always nice to set goals up. Tim is a massive player for us and scores so many goals for us.

‘We know if we put a ball into a good area that his instinct will, more than likely, take him there.

‘He was unlucky with another one the other night which got cleared off the line which shows how dangerous he is.’

TIM CAHILL
The Australian international revealed that he was happy to keep adding to his 52 Premier League goals to help his side up the table.

‘For me, since I’ve been at this football club, I’ve built up a reputation as someone who wants to strive hard and try and be the heartbeat of the team,’

‘I’d like to be the one that sets the tone along with Phil Neville and players like that to lead the team.

‘I’ve said time and time again, it’s great when you’re winning, but the most important time is when a team is at their worst and we’re looking for some spark and the manager always asks for it’

Everton Team News:

Long term absentee Victor Anichebe is set to return to the squad today and may feature from the bench.

Fellaini is serving the last game of his three match ban.

Everton have no fresh injury worries and whilst the majority of Evertonians want to see Saha dropped David Moyes looks set to name an unchanged starting 11

POSSIBLE LINE UP

Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Heitinga, Cahill, Pienaar, Arteta, Coleman, Yak

Player to watch: Cahill

The clubs top scorer on 7 goal this season. Cahill is currently in rich goal scoring form. By far and away the most likely player to appear on the Everton scoreline so he will be worth a watch so long as he gets the service he deserves.

West Brom Team News:

West Brom are hopeful that James Morrison and Steven Reid will recover from back and achilles injuries in time to feature. However influencial midfielder Chris Brunt is a major doubt with a groin injury that kept him out of last weeks defeat to Stoke.

POSSIBLE LINE UP

Carson, Scharner, Jara, Pablo, Tamas, Cech, Morrison, Mulumbu, Barnes, Thomas, Odemwingie

Player to watch: Scharner

Always seems to score against us he has scored four goals in seven Premier League starts against Everton and with us not looking at our rock solid best against Sunderland he could once again prove to be a thorn in our sides this afternoon.

Stats and That

Everton are the only team to have scored in their last eight Premier League matches

Louis Saha has scored four goals in six Premier League appearances against West Brom

The Baggies have kept only one clean sheet in 14 league games this term

West Brom have not been involved in a goalless draw for over a year since their Championship stalemate at Coventry in October 2009.

Roberto Di Matteo’s side are the only Premier League side not to have conceded a headed goal this term

Everton have lost only four of their last 25 Premier League matches.

West Brom’s last league win at Goodison Park came in May 1979 when they won 2-0

Ref Watch:

Lee Mason….. probably going to screw us over.

Match Prediction:

I think this is a must win game for Everton to get our season back on track (again) and because if we are going to get anywhere near the European places then this is the kind of game that we should be putting to bed with no drama. However West Brom have proved themselves to be a good footballing side of late and I think they are just lacking confidence at the moment so Everton will have to be careful that we are not humilated.

I predict a 2-0 win for Everton with an Arteta penalty and Saha tap in netting for the blues.
