Jamie Carragher has suggested that Marcus Rashford should join Everton from Manchester United when he gets the chance.

The young forward burst onto the scene a few years ago for United and is clearly one of the brighter young forwards in the country at the moment.

However, under Jose Mourinho he has not played as much as he would have liked and his career has perhaps not hit the early heights it might have done.

He scored last night for England, meanwhile, in what was his second in as many games for his country and speaking on Sky Sports last night the former Red suggested the move should happen:

“Romelu Lukaku is in front of Rashford [at Manchester United] and I don’t see Rashford displacing him as long as he is there.

“But remember when Lukaku was at Chelsea and he had to come away and go to Everton. Then he ended up as top scorer and got his move to Man United.

“Possibly Everton is the sort of club you are looking at, just below the top six, for someone like Rashford, similar to what Lukaku did.

Certainly, I think Rashford would be a good striker for our club and he would score goals and play regularly.

He’s the sort of player we need to be signing to get towards the top four, too, so it’s one I’d like to see.
