Seamus Coleman’s injury has been revealed and it looks as though he’ll be out for a little bit with a stress fracture in his foot.

The Irish defender suffered a horrible leg break when on international duty a while back and he’s now picked up another problem whilst away with his nation.

It’s not as serious as last time, of course, but it is still a problem with him out for the weekend against West Ham.

Martin O’Neill revealed to RTE – via the Daily Star:

“Seamus went for a scan. He has a little stress fracture, which is a concern. He could easily have got a flight home, but he stayed with the team.

“He is a great captain, a really great captain. He is inspirational and obviously, we hope he is back in time for the games coming up.”

Coleman adds to our current injury list, then, with a number of players already on the treatment table or at least short of fitness.

It’ll be interesting to see what sort of side we play against West Ham, then, but it seems likely that we are going to be patchwork to say the least against the Hammers.

Even so, we should have the quality to get a result.
