With Everton linked with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Chris Sutton has suggested that the midfielder should look to stay at Chelsea and not move elsewhere this summer.

The player spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace and did a fine job with him getting to the World Cup with England.

Indeed, he looks ready to really kick on with his career and, for sure, he needs to be playing regularly this season which is why clubs have been linked with a move for him.

However, Chris Sutton believes he should stay put and look to prove himself at Chelsea.

Writing in the Daily Mail, he said:

“He knows it is on the training pitch where he can prove that he should be picked ahead of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas.

“Managers will go for the players who they believe give them the best chance of winning. It’s up to the English players to show why they deserve to be selected.”

Sutton thinks RLC should stay and fight at Chelsea but given their ability to ruin young players’ careers I’d say it’s time for him to move on.

They’ve a lot of central options and I think he’d be better off moving away so let’s see if we can get him late on.
