EMAILED IN BY BLUEBOYBRIAN

I’ve heard all the moaning and whinging about the Kirkby Move and it really is going to stand in the way of our clubs progress. I for one (and I know loads who feel the same) do not want to sit in an ageing even partially re-developed Goodison park, looking over at a 70,000 palatial yankee stadium that puts our effort to great shame, just 200 yards away. Imagine travelling supporters and city visitors eyeing our piss poor effort when visiting the red shite and laughing. ‘Yes you’ve really progressed there Everton’.

Then there’s the issue of other sites within the City boundaries. I don’t think it will happen unless we get some serious foreign (or local) investor in with millions to throw at us (Like possibly Tesco). This is not beyond the bounds of possibility as there’s loads of investors hovering around the premiership, but we need be cautious and make sure its the right people for the right reasons. We also have Blue Bill at the helm (God love him), who I think is an unknown entity, or at least just Betty Turpins Son, without Everton Football Club. And despite his promises of release to the right person, I’m not entirely sure that’s the intention.

Without huge investment, ANY move within the City will give us a massive debt that our Great Grandkids will be still paying back (that’s if we haven’t been liquidised). Liverpool Council May give us some free land, but we would definitely need a Tesco to build it for us, and with Liverpool flooded with investment and development, I really cant see that happening. Of course Liverpool Council want us to stay in the City boundary, they would be mad to say anything else, but they really don’t give a shit if we debt ourselves up to the hilt to do it. Well I for one certainly do.

Lastly the Kirkby move. I really don’t understand anyone who argues it’s location. If we moved to Halewood we would be at least twice as far away as Kirkby is to Goodison. It is comfortably within the realms of Scouse land, surrounded by Scousers and a sparrows fart from Goodison. It won’t be as choked as Walton is now and I think the development will be a fantastic one. We have to remember that Terry Leahy is an Evertonian as well. Hell be using Tesco cash to better our club in line with their business. It may go on to develop closer ties with the company in the Long Run, who are now in the challenge for Global markets. We could certainly do a lot worse than the owners of Tesco taking over at Everton. Lastly, and the major major point is that it will be almost FREE. Yes FREE. Free land off Kirkby and a free build off Tesco. Will someone please tell me when we will ever get a better opportunity than that. Come on lads and Girls – Wake up and smell the Coffee for !$%*^ and Everton’s sake. I have not yet heard one viable argument against moving to Kirkby. And no I don’t live there, and its not closer to my house, and I’m not a Tesco shareholder !!!!
