Mr.Rooney left with sufficient lack of decorum, and from that point onwards its been player swap shop as far as Everton are concerned with Phil Neville being signed from Man Utd 2 years ago and Tim Howard being signed last year.
To add fuel to the fire that the two clubs do have a ‘special relationship’ going on our two best players, Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill, despite it being at a time when Man Utd were not coming remotely close to winning the league, were consistently linked with the Red Devils. Then we had that ‘gentlemans agreement’ between Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes that loanee Tim Howard would not play that season against Man Utd despite making the move permanant from January of this year.

Now we have this. Some decent but not entirely encouraging prospect Phil Bardsley. The lad was loaned out to Aston Villa and by all accounts made a good impression. So why is it Villa are not at the head of the queue pushing for his signature? Maybe Everton’s ‘special relationship’ with Man Utd has help them ‘bump’ the queue. I think somethings up and I don’t like it.
