Roberto Martinez has given an injury update on Everton duo Seamus Coleman and Darron Gibson.

Seamus Coleman limped off with a hamstring injury in the second-half of the Tranmere Rovers game and has not featured in any pre-season game since.

However Martinez is hopeful that he should return for the match against SC Paderborn.

‘Seamus will be ready for the Germany trip and he should be involved in that game, If not, we’ll have a behind closed doors game the following week and we would expect him to be ready for the start of the season.’ Martinez told the Everton TV.

Meanwhile it is not thought that Darron Gibson has suffered a set back since his return to action from a knee injury and was merely rested against FC Porto.

Martinez added: ‘Darron Gibson has been working a lot in the last few days and we felt that we were running a risk with him, so he needed an extra day to recover and he will be involved on Wednesday.

‘Sometimes it’s about giving players the right doses of work and Darron’s not got a problem at all – it’s just about making sure we don’t take unnecessary risks with him.’
