Roberto Martinez would like to conclude one final bit of business this summer for Everton.

After a first successful season at Goodison Park, the Everton gaffer has been frequently heard muttering the word continuity.

So it was key to sign two of the key players to last seasons success on permanent contracts.

The first was Gareth Barry from Manchester City the second was Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

The extended contract of Ross Barkley is also seen as equally important.

But if we are to build on the successes of last season and put on an assault on two fronts with a Premier League challenge and a Europa League challenge we also need new faces.

“Hopefully we will have another new player coming in.

“We are looking for a wide player that is going to help us in a position that we need to strengthen going into the season.
Martinez told Everton TV.

He continued: “We are going to take as long as we need but hopefully it will be earlier rather than later.”

One clear target that the media have heavily linked us too is Chelsea’s Christian Atsu.

The 22-year-old Ghana International spent last season on loan with Vitesse Arnhem after making the move to Chelsea for £5million and has impressed many with his performances in the World Cup.

It would appear he is available for a season-long loan deal, however Everton have competition from Aston Villa and Sunderland.
