Points & Red Cards Shared As Everton Draw With Bournemouth

|

Having got ourselves up and running under Marco Silva as we took a 2-1 victory over Southampton last weekend, hopes were high that we could make it two from two as we travelled to Dean Court to face Bournemouth today.

Silva’s side played out a goalless first half on the day, but we did see Richarlison depart the pitch in the 41st minute with a straight red card for an apparent headbutt, but reduced to ten men we started the second period far more brightly and took a 2-0 advantage with goals coming from Theo Walcott and Michael Keane. Sandwiched between our goals, Bournemouth were themselves reduced to ten men as Adam Smith saw red for pulling back Walcott as he raced through on goal.

Bournemouth fought back though with a Josh King penalty and with Nathan Ake adding a second four minutes later, that was where the scoring on the day ended so we travel back with only a point.
