PL strugglers ready bid for Everton flop, Marcel Brands cannot say no to this – report

|

Crystal Palace are readying a bid to take Everton’s Yannick Bolasie back to Selhurst Park, days after the winger cut short a season-long loan deal with Aston Villa.

Football Insider are claiming that the Eagles have identified their former star player as a possible January addition, and could be about to jump at the chance of re-signing the 29-year-old now that he is back at Finch Farm.

Everton had paid the Selhurst Park outfit a reported £25million to bring the former sensational wide midfielder to Merseyside in 2016, but Bolasie has failed to repeat the dazzling displays he managed in London.

Injuries also took their toll on the DR Congo international, which ultimately created the opening for his loan spell at Villa Park, but even there he only featured 21 times, and 12 of those games came from the bench.

As such, the 35-cap international terminated his own loan deal in order to find first-team minutes elsewhere for the remainder of the season, and if Crystal Palace do bid for Bolasie, Marcel Brands cannot turn the deal down.

The 29-year-old is extremely unlikely to force his way into Marco Silva’s plans at Goodison Park, and further glimpses of his past glories may drive the price up in the summer if Palace only make a loan approach.

Another possible destination for the winger is Middlesbrough, as the Telegraph are suggesting that Boro could reignite their summer interest in his signature.
