Championship side Crystal Palace have confirmed that they will make a summer move for James Vaughan.

The Everton striker looks set to leave Goodison Park at the end of the season and following two loan spells at Selhurst Park which has brought nine goals in 30 appearances, a permanent switch seems the most logical step.

“A deal for James Vaughan is just a case of sitting down and convincing James that this is where he wants to play his football, then looking at the financial situation and putting everything in place and seeing what the outcome is.” Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman told News Shopper.

Vaughan’s form for Crystal Palace this season has earned the striker a place in Stuart Pearce’s 40-man provisional squad for England Under-21’s European Championship tournament this summer.

His performances have also been enough to gain interest from Premier League new boys Norwich City, which could of course tempt the 22-year-old striker out of a move to Palace.
