“One Of The Toughest Places To Go” – Ex Villa Man Has Fond Everton Memories

|

Former Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel has recently conducted a pretty comprehensive interview with Everton’s own Official Site, mostly focusing on Colombian compatriot Yerry Mini.

Having praised our 24-year-old centre-half massively, calling his Everton switch a “smart move” and stating that’s it’s pretty much down to Mina himself when it comes to ‘how good he becomes’, answering a wider question about his time in the English game and the Premier League, Angel admitted it was the toughest, but most enjoyable, spell of his career.

With a record of one win one in four games on his trips to Goodison Park, he also felt Everton were one of the most formidable places he’d journeyed to in his long career.

Speaking to the Official Site he said of his appearances on our home soil.

“Goodison Park was one of the toughest places to go. It was always a physical game and it was always loud. It was one of the hardest challenges we faced. It was not a pleasant ground to play at as an away player. But I absolutely loved playing in the Premier League. The experience I had in England was fantastic and I have so many great memories from that period in my life. I was able to learn a lot and grew up personally and professionally in England and I have only good memories from my time there.”

Good words about Everton in many ways and good to see ex-professionals comment so strongly about the home faithful.
