Northern Ireland fearing battle over keeping Everton’s Isaac Price with England lurking

|

The English FA are keeping tabs on Everton midfielder Isaac Price with Northern Ireland reportedly doing their best to keep hold of one of their brightest young talents.

Since joining the Everton academy at the age of 7, Price has been one of the club’s brightest young players in every age group.

He made his first-team debut at the end of last season, coming on as a late substitute in the blues’ 5-1 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates.

Since making his debut, he has performed superbly for the under-23s whilst also making a further 3 first-team appearances for Frank Lampard’s side.

Price has been capped by both England and Northern Ireland at youth level but has most recently been a part of the Northern Ireland setup, making his Northern Ireland under-23s debut in March.

However, according to the Belfast Telegraph Sport, Northern Ireland now face a battle to keep their highly-rated teenager, with England keeping track of his progress.

We have seen lots of England internationals represent different country’s at youth level, with both Declan Rice and Jack Grealish representing the Republic of Ireland at youth level before being snapped up by England.

Isaac Price obviously has the potential to become an international footballer, but this decision could change his entire footballing career. Whilst England may be a better footballing nation currently, the 19-year-old would probably be given much more game time if he stuck with Northern Ireland.

Who should Isaac Price represent?

England

Northern Ireland
