Everton defender Matthew Pennington will not be going to Elland Road again on loan this season as per Leeds journalist Phil Hay.
The defender looks set for a tough time of getting first-team action at our club this season and a loan deal away would surely suit.
However, a move to Leeds United again this summer looks off of the cards with Hay suggesting as such.
He was on the Inside Elland Road podcast and at 2.30 he suggested that the deal was off – though talks did happen early on in the summer.
Certainly, I think Pennington needs to move somewhere but perhaps not going to Leeds would be best.
He had a tough time there and there’s always the risk he could struggle again.
A move to another club needs to be sorted, though, because he needs the minutes to truly fulfil his potential as a centre-half.
