Oumar Niasse, who some may consider as a £13.5 million Everton flop, has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Since his move to Goodison Park in January, Everton fans have seen him for all of 29 minutes.

But it would seem that Greater Manchester Police have seen a lot more of him as they arrested him on Friday and held him for questioning.

“At 12.55am on Friday 13 May 2016, police in Salford were called to an address following a report of an assault. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police told the Echo.

It continued: “Officers attended and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and was taken into police custody for questioning. He has been bailed until 27 May 2016 pending further enquiries.”

A spokesperson for Everton stated: “The club condemns unreservedly any form of abuse. In this case, we understand an investigation is underway to establish the facts.”
