“Need more like him”, “Love him to retire at us” – These Everton fans react to club post

A few Everton fans have been reacting on social media to a recent post from the club, reflecting on Richarlison’s form in the 2019/20 campaign so far.

Richarlison has featured in the starting line-up for each of our fixtures this term heading into Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Liverpool, having opened all 21 of our Premier League games and our four Carabao Cup ties.

Only goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has also started each of our Premier League encounters to date this season, while Mason Holgate and Alex Iwobi also opened all of our Carabao Cup matches – including an appearance in midfield for Holgate.

Richarlison’s outing in the starting line-up away to Manchester City on New Years’ Day returned the 19-cap forward’s ninth goal of the season in all competitions, and halted a five-game drought for the Brazilian.

The £90,000-per-week winger has also amassed four assists across all competitions in ’19/20, with his involvement in three Premier League strikes only second at the club to Djibril Sidibe (4).

Only Dominic Calvert-Lewin (8) has scored more top-flight goals for the club than Richarlison (7) after 21 games this season, too.

Will Richarlison end the season as our top goalscorer?

Yes

No

Richarlison’s strike rate of a league goal every 259.7 minutes is down on his record from his debut season, having found the back of the net every 206.1 minutes on route to a 13-goal haul following his £50million transfer.

The Brazilian is also shooting on goal marginally less than last season, with Richarlison currently averaging an effort every 35.6 minutes to 32.3, though has improved his successful dribbles from every 68.7 minutes to 51.9 and key passes from 127.6 minutes to 82.6, per WhoScored data.
