More than two months into the new season, Muhamed Besic finally made his Premier League debut in a Sheffield United shirt. The 27-year-old came off the bench in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United, but how did he get on?
As per WhoScored, Besic played for nine minutes, made six touches, won one aerial duel, completed 100% of his two passes, made one clearance and completed two dribbles.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina international failed to block a shot, make an interception, create a chance, register a shot, make a tackle or whip in a cross, but his cameo appearance received praise from some supporters.
My 5⃣ takeaways from #SUFC vs #WHUFC
1⃣ All 3 subs had a good display. Besic had a great Blades debut.
2⃣ Lys Mousset continues to prove the doubters wrong.
3⃣ The poorest I've seen us for quite a while in the first half. Norwood + Robinson had very poor games.#twitterblades

Besic has made three appearances in all competitions since joining on a season-long loan from Everton. His only starts for the Blades have come in the EFL Cup – 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers (August 27) and 1-0 defeat to Sunderland (September 25) – as he’s low down the pecking order in the league.
He’s been an unused substitute in eight of United’s 10 top-flight games and was out of the matchday squad once. Besic is currently behind John Fleck, Oliver Norwood and John Lundstram under Chris Wilder, but he’ll be delighted to finally get minutes in the league.
