Bernard started only five Premier League games in October, November and December but has been given the nod three times in January alone. The Brazilian international has contributed four goals in 18 games this season but has been substituted on and off on 15 occasions (83%).
Against Newcastle, Bernard played for 82 minutes, had 70 touches, made one assist from two chances created, completed 75% of his 44 passes, whipped in seven crosses, had one successful dribble, had three shots with 66% accuracy, made two tackles and made one interception.
Since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018, the 27-year-old has gone on to make 54 appearances in all competitions, contributing 10 goals. With Alex Iwobi and Richarlison currently out of action, Bernard is an important player for Carlo Ancelotti.
He should start against Watford next month and will hope to be on the winning side.
