Jordan Pickford did himself no favours when we lost at Newcastle, and now more worrying reports have emerged relating to the goalkeeper and time spent in the North East.

This time it is not his performances on the pitch that are attracting attention, but his antics off it, with the club now investigating an alleged incident involving the Three Lions starter during a night out in Sunderland.

Northumbria Police is also investigating the situation that unfolded involving the 25-year-old, after footage emerged on social media that seems to show our number one involved in a fracas outside of a nightclub.

The incident in question is understood to have taken place shortly after midnight on Sunday night, when police received a report of a disturbance involving a large group of individuals.

The Guardian have since added that Pickford, who had started in a relatively untested Premier League game for us against West Ham on Saturday, was in Sunderland to celebrate Mothers Day despite having tickets to attend his former side’s Checkatrade Trophy Final clash with Portsmouth.

During the night out, he was then subjected to “good-natured banter” as onlookers recalled it that he took well initially, before his fiancée was insulted at another bar that triggered the alleged fracas.
