Former Everton and England midfielder Leon Osama has named his all-time Everton Premier League team with some interesting names missing out. [Via Instagram swipe to the end to see the team]

Osman who played for Everton for almost 20 years (19 at all levels), graduated from Everton’s youth academy and represented Everton 433 times for the first team, registering 58 goals and 39 assists and was an integral player in Everton’s 2004/05 season when the blues finished 4th.

In goal. The greatest keeper to have played the game for most. Neville Southall.

A back four of current club captain Seamus Coleman, FA Cup-winning captain Dave Watson, former club captain Phil Jagielka and at left back arguably one of the best left-backs to play in the Premier League, Leighton Baines.

A midfield three – Gareth Barry, Gary Speed and Tim Cahill, on either wing Andrei Kanchelskis and to keep the partnership going, Steven Pienaar (because everyone needs a Baines and a Pienaar) and leading the line, Wayne Rooney.

On the bench, Ossie has gone for Tim Howard, John Stones, Alan Stubbs, Thomas Gravesen, Mikel Arteta, Duncan Ferguson and Romelu Lukaku.

A solid team nonetheless, but I’m surprised to see both Joleon Lescott and Sylvain Distin both missing out on the bench as both of them in Everton colours are two of the best defenders I’ve seen play for Everton in the Premier League. The only change I would have done is Rooney over Speed as a 10, with Romelu Lukaku leading the line. After all, he is our leading Premier League goalscorer.

What do you make of Ossie’s XI? Would you pick anyone different?
