The ever reliable Dominic King(!) has reported that Jagielka is believed to have asked for a move away from Brammall Lane, stating a desire for Premiership football and more international recognition as his main reasons.
David Moyes is a keen admirer, and his signing is sure to offer the squad some much needed competition.
Whether Everton will be put off by United’s six million asking price remains to be seen, with some reporting a four and a half million release clause in the player’s contract.
