Everton have been given an injury boost ahead of their trip to face Arsenal, with Carlo Ancelotti confirming that Bernard is fit to face the Gunners on Sunday. The 27-year-old picked up a knock in Everton’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace (February 8), but he’s believed to have recovered in time for the weekend and could start if Theo Walcott is out.

Ancelotti said: “Bernard is training normally.” The Brazilian international was substituted after an hour against Palace due to the injury, but he’s overcome the knock thanks to a lengthy winter break. Bernard would have been missed too, as he’s contributed two goals in his last two Premier League appearances – assist in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United (January 21) and a goal against Palace.

Bernard has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating five goals. As per WhoScored, the 27-year-old has made 17 chances for his teammates, boasts 20 successful dribbles (57%) and has whipped in 30 crosses. He’s been a regular under Ancelotti and should be 100% ahead of the weekend meeting.

Everton could go five points clear of Arsenal in the table if they come out on top. The Toffees are currently ninth in the Premier League with 36 points from 26 games, boasting three wins and a draw from their last five outings.

What will the result be vs Arsenal on Saturday?
