Everton have one win in their last six and no game to prepare for this weekend after Millwall eliminated the Toffees from the FA Cup, but the club wished to stress the importance of love this Valentines Day and instantly received backlash from the Goodison Park faithful.
There’s not much to love going on at Goodison Park right now, as Marco Silva’s last home win was back on January 13 when goals from Kurt Zouma and Dominic Calvert-Lewin ensured the Cherries left empty handed.
Shame the same could not be said for the games since, in which only a trip to Huddersfield resulted in Silva adding to his points tally on Merseyside.
The Portuguese’s ever-diminishing record at the helm means Everton are 16th in the 2019 form table, having lost the joint-most games (five) and played a game more than anyone bar Manchester City.
That did not stop the club from trying to buoy up the fanbase on Valentines Day, as the official Everton Twitter account shared a post suggesting everyone should; “find love like Richarlison and Yerry Mina”.
The Toffees faithful weren’t impressed judging by these replies…
Start by loving the moto of the club.
