Highly-rated ace’s glowing praise of Everton stars suggests transfer could be on the cards

Andre Gomes is one of the most highly-rated star’s of our first-team, but the Portuguese has shared nothing but praises for his teammates, in quotes reported by the Liverpool Echo.

The Portuguese has hailed their impact on his game since moving to Merseyside on loan in the summer, and feels the likes of Idrissa Gana Gueye, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison can help to keep his performances at a top level “for the next few years”.

His words can only be seen as a major boost to our hopes of turning his temporary deal into a permanent transfer in the summer, as the 25-year-old will have as much of a say in matters as Barcelona and our board.

If he does not want to join us on the back of his impressive debut campaign, he will not. It’s as simple as that. And there are already other Premier League sides, such as Tottenham, sniffing around in the hopes of swiping him from our clutches.

The fact that he is speaking about the future, and one that involves those that he is currently surrounded by, however, has to be a positive sign, as the most he has said in the past is that he intends to wait until the summer.

“I think I have much more to do and, honestly, much more to learn,” he said. “I am trying to train hard, enjoy it day by day and learn with the players and the staff.

“I want to be a top player for the next years. Marco Silva has been very good for me, but not just the manager, all of his coaching staff too. And if you have good teammates with high quality, too, you will learn much more, so I have to thank all of them.

“There is a lot of high quality around me, so it is easier for me to play and create the space for them. We try to get the chemistry with players around us.

“So I enjoy it a lot playing with them. We are very happy with how we are playing at the moment.”
