Former Everton manager Sam Allardyce has claimed that fans aren’t interested in potential at Goodison Park as we appear to be on the verge of the very expensive capture of Watford’s Brazilian attacker Richarlison.

With news breaking the other day of a potential £50million deal (all in) almost agreed between both parties, on Monday it was being heavily reported that he had travelled to undergo his medical and put the final touches to personal terms prior to the deal being announced.

To give the story a fresh angle Official Site‘ target=’blank’>Talksport had Allardyce in the studio for Alan Brazil’s breakfast show and he clearly felt that the sum was inflated but more importantly that ‘Everton fans do not want potential’ we want players who can perform immediately and kick us on up the table.

The comments on the Talksport thread from non Evertonian’s were interesting – these few caught my eye.

Comments from the faithful were even more pointed when it came to the attitude of the former England man.

Think that’s pretty conclusive then, isn’t it?
