Former Everton manager Sam Allardyce has claimed that fans aren’t interested in potential at Goodison Park as we appear to be on the verge of the very expensive capture of Watford’s Brazilian attacker Richarlison.
With news breaking the other day of a potential £50million deal (all in) almost agreed between both parties, on Monday it was being heavily reported that he had travelled to undergo his medical and put the final touches to personal terms prior to the deal being announced.
To give the story a fresh angle Official Site‘ target=’blank’>Talksport had Allardyce in the studio for Alan Brazil’s breakfast show and he clearly felt that the sum was inflated but more importantly that ‘Everton fans do not want potential’ we want players who can perform immediately and kick us on up the table.
"Everton fans do not want potential!"
Sam Allardyce has a warning for #Everton boss Marco Silva, who is set to sign Richarlison for £50m 💷
Do you think Everton are paying too much for the Brazilian forward? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/xDa7dKSsg9

The comments on the Talksport thread from non Evertonian’s were interesting – these few caught my eye.
Uncapped for Brazil, 5 goals in a full season. 50million. Obscene. Makes Mahrez look like an unreal purchase

It's hard to take him seriously when he calls him 'Mario Silva' after 4 seconds of the video.

Lukaku was reported at 70mil but with add ons was 90. Richarlison is 35 with 15 add ons.
Talk sport done lots of interviews about Everton being a disgrace sacking allardyce yet choose to ignore the conte sacking as the same.
Biased much.

You need to realise Alan that a lot of your listeners are fed up of the pandering and support for Moyes, Allardyce, Rednapp and all the other Groovy Gangers…

Honestly, nobody cares what this man has to say…why do you persist with him? #EFC

Comments from the faithful were even more pointed when it came to the attitude of the former England man.
News flash…..nobody’s arsed what sam allardyce thinks ????

Refused to play Kenny, Holegate and DCL and sent Lookman out on loan. We all wanted them to play and he refused. The most bitter clueless man in football

Love @dannykellywords but Allardyce just showing his contempt for fans and anyone who doesn’t like his terrible style of football, bitter about England, bitter about Everton

I really could not give a flying … about Sam Allardyce's opinion when it comes to Everton Football Club.

if he knows what Everton fans wanted.. why didn't he change things?? He had the money to sign the players

Rather have potential with a hungry attitude, established players often come with egos and are mercenaries!
Rather have players on the way up… Cahill, Arteta, Fellaini, Rom… yes they move on but we make a profit and if successful they’ll stay— MarkMcToffee (@MarkMcOne) July 23, 2018
It is 50m – 40m + 10m compensation for tapping up Mario Silva.

I don't think Sam Allardyce is in any way qualified to know what the Everton fans want
— Aled Richards (@aledr86) July 23, 2018
Big Sam is getting slated for his comments on this, & so he should. We don't want potential, no, we want to be ENTERTAINED! Something that Sams teams do not do, they are set to survive, set to not entertain, set to keep Sam in jobs as a fireman, putting out fires wherever he goes. pic.twitter.com/51KuMjIGyu

Sam Allardyce knowing what Everton fans want.

Think that’s pretty conclusive then, isn’t it?
