First-team ace hopeful Everton sign these reported Marco Silva targets

Seamus Coleman had an impact in our win at the London Stadium on Saturday, as the 30-year-old created the opening for Bernard to score our second goal against West Ham.

Now, the Republic of Ireland international is keen to see the club tie down the services of two fellow summer arrivals Andre Gomes and Kurt Zouma, in quotes reported by the Independent.

The reason why our captain is so eager to see majority owner Farhad Moshiri splashing the cash on these two, is that the win over the Hammers moved us to within a point of seventh place, and the Europa League would demand a deep squad in order to compete.

“If we did get into Europe, I think that would change the plans for the manager and the owner,” he said. “You might need a few more players because it is quite demanding.

“It would be massive. At the start of the season we knew breaking into the top six would be difficult, but we wanted to get that seventh place. Everton should be in Europe every season. We’ve finally got the financial backing that maybe we’ve been missing for quite a period of time.

“It’s the owner and the manager’s decision, but it would be great to hold on to the players we’ve got on loan. They’ve been great and their performances at certain points have been brilliant. If we were able to keep them that would be fantastic.”

Coleman is not alone in sharing his desires that the Chelsea and Barcelona owned stars are kept at Goodison Park beyond the current season, with the boss regularly sharing his hopes that we can agree deals to keep them.

The weekend was no different for Marco Silva, as well, as the Portuguese, in quotes published by the Liverpool Echo, shared that he hopes we can capitalise on a “very, very, good opportunity” to land his compatriot.

“It is a very, very good opportunity for us,” he said. “Let’s see what the position is of his own club, we know our position and we know Andre’s position also, so let’s see what we can do.

“But what we have inside our squad, even if he is a loan player, a player with high quality, high quality as a football player, high quality as a professional, a fantastic team-mate for all his colleagues and he is everything we expect coming from a player of his quality.

“Let’s see if we can have Andre permanently in our club.”
