Everton’s reported chase of Colombian international centre-half Yerry Mina took another twist yesterday.
Goal reported that Everton were now in pole position to capture the 23-year-old Barcelona defender as we were the first to up our bid to a speculated £27million with the Nou Camp outfit rejecting previous lower offers.
With the player insisting he wanted to stay having only joined the club last January, if this report is accurate, it means his employers are happy to cash in on his World Cup performances and the delay in him moving on has simply been because nobody has met their price.
They report that we’ve had offers of £15million and £21million rejected and we have now tried our luck with £27million. West Ham, Borussia Dortmund and Lyon are said to be in the hunt for him as well.
Reacting to the latest development, fans were mixed with some sceptical and others optimistic over a deal being done.
Brands hopefully doing what moshiri asked him to do now

I think he will start with Keane but within a few games will bring holgate in unless Keane improves.

Wow… almost double the 1st bid but I've said all along, it's not my money and it must be available.. just do it in my opinion

Until he’s pulling on the shirt, doing a pigeon dance and stating ‘Everton were the only club for me and I’ve supported them all my life’ then I ain’t gonna believe it!

I don’t think this will happen as he wants to go to Lyon. I’d be happy if we got him and digne as we need both those positions although i can’t see the mina one coming off
