Everton star Marouane Fellaini has finally been sold to Manchester United for a fee believed to be 27.5mil. After weeks of intense speculation, the move happened with less than one hour remaining in the window. Everton confirmed earlier in the summer that Marouane Fellaini did have a clause in his contract that allowed him to talk to Champions League clubs should the club meet the 23mil buyout clause, however that expired at the start of August.

The 25yr old Belgian became Everton’s record signing back in 2009 to the day, as he finalised the 15mil move to Everton from Standard Liege with minutes to go before the deadline. He then went to make 141 appearances for the club and scoring 25 goals, which 13 of them came last season when he played further up the pitch. During his time at Everton he also managed 42 caps for the Belgian National team, scoring 7 times.

The move will of course see him reunite with David Moyes, who signed Fellaini for Everton and Moyes will be hoping that the tough tackling, physical midfielder can add some physical presence to his midfield as they seek to win back-to-back league titles.

Fellaini will be sorely missed by Everton fans, Fellaini was one of the key components to Everton finishing in the top 6 last season, as he was Everton’s top scorer for the season with 13 goals.
