Explained: What is Djibril Sidibe’s asking price?

|

Everton may be on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman. Djibril Sidibe has been in fine form which may lead to the Toffees signing him on a permanent deal, but how much would they have to pay?

When Everton agreed the loan deal with AS Monaco, they had the option to buy Sidibe for £12.8m next summer. The 27-year-old could be a bargain acquisition given how well he’s fared in recent weeks, so time will tell if Everton lodge a bid. Fans are hoping they do.

Should Everton sign Djibril Sidibe on a permanent deal?

Yes

No

Sidibe has made seven appearances in all competitions for Everton, playing a full 90 minutes in their last four Premier League outings. The Toffees had won only two of the seven games Sidibe missed between August and September and boast two wins from four when the French international has started.

Coleman has been short of form this season and has been on the bench in Everton’s last three games as a result. It’s hard to see the 31-year-old getting back in the side if Sidibe maintains his impressive level of performances. As things stand, a permanent deal is likely to be the next step. He won’t break the bank.
