I’m sure there will be mixed feelings on this, but Everton captain Phil Jagielka believes that over 10 players could leave the club this summer.

The main frustration around Goodison Park this season wasn’t the lack of quality within the squad, it was actually the opposite.

The squad was full of quality and due to that, the under performances were that much harder to take as the side were clearly under-performing.

For all of Roberto Martinez’s faults, building a competitive starting eleven was not one. It might have been unbalanced and lacked strength in depth, but it was a work in progress.

That work might be an even bigger job for whoever comes in to replace him as Jags believes that around 10 players could leave over the summer.

“There is going to be a lot of change in the playing squad. I am not sure the squad is going to be big enough for the start of next season with the people who are leaving. he told the Echo.

He continued: ‘It is a case of the club deciding what sort of squad and formula they want to go for both on the pitch and off the pitch. That will determine what manager they want.

“I am not sure exactly what will go on but there could be double figures leaving, which is a lot.

‘We are not talking about young lads either. We are talking about established first-team players.

Who do you think will be leaving?

Tim Howard is confirmed as a notable established first team player, while Tony Hibbert, Leon Osman and Steven Pienaar are all out-of-contract, but who else?
