Everton have been strongly linked with Bordeaux winger Malcom this past week and it was said that officials from both clubs would be meeting this Thursday to thrash out a potential deal for the player who seems destined to leave the club this summer.

News of our interest in the Brazilian certainly ignited some excitement amongst the fanbase in what has otherwise been a rather lacklustre summer so far when it came to potential transfer targets as manager Marco Silva looks to trim and strengthen the group ahead of the coming 2018/19 campaign, but with every lift, disappointment brings a heavy drop.

It was being reported yesterday by Sky Sports that the young talent had a preference for Roma as a destination this summer, despite our so called ‘advanced talks’ status.

Roma are late to the party but they are boosted by the Alisson Becker transfer to Liverpool and it’s said they have chosen to spend it quickly on the player who grabbed 12 goals and seven assists in Ligue 1 last year.

His agent, Fernando Garcia, is quoted as saying.

“In the next few hours, I will have a word with Monchi. The player would like to come to Italy and Roma are very interested.”
