It would seem that despite a managerial change, Everton’s interest in Major League Soccer has not waned.
United States of America international Clint Dempsey left Tottenham Hotspur for Seattle Sounders in the summer.
The 30-year-old left as part of a deal that earned Spurs in the region of £6million.
But with the Major League Soccer season coming to it’s post play-off close, Dempsey could make a Premier League return like many famously have done previously.
Landon Donovan of course made the move twice from Los Angeles Galaxy to Goodison Park, while Thierry Henry made a sensational return to Arsenal from the New York Red Bull’s.
Tottenham hold a first option clause to re-sign him on loan when the January transfer window opens, with Everton, Aston Villa and Fulham joining the queue incase they decide against making a move for him.
‘Clint’s contract allows him to go on loan for the off-season.
‘All parties are working on a deal and we won’t be surprised if it happens.’ Seattle general manager Adrian Hanauer told the American media.
